How to make school sports better?

Nothing is perfect and that also applies to school sports. Here are a few suggestions that students have made to improve school sports.

School sports could be made better by making it more diverse and by making the lessons longer and more frequent during the week. There is only a certain set of sports. More less popular sports, for example: pilates, rock climbing or boxing could be included in the curriculum. Schools should have sport teams, so students could interact with students from other classes. Hiking and camping could be a great way to explore nature and go out and have fun with your class.

Teachers could also help in making school sports better by being motivated themselves and by motivating the students as well. To make it easier for teachers to grade the students, fitness tests could be carried out more often than once a year. There could be sports where students play against teachers. Competitions between schools would also be good. Students could choose what to do in sports lessons by for example voting. Other school subjects could be combined with sports.

Sports facilities could be improved so it would be nicer to be there. School's sport equipment should be repaired and taken better care of. For example, basketball could be played without broken hoops. During the breaks students could then play basketball and other games.

The sport lessons are intense, so you always sweat at least a little bit. After the sport lessons there should be more time to take a shower and change into fresh clothes. In the winter students have skiing and it takes a lot of time to get your equipment and go to the trails. Skiing and skating are mandatory in the winter and generally students don’t enjoy this. This is one reason why students should be able to vote or choose sometimes what to do in the lessons.

After all, school sports are just a little part of our lives. Sports and your decisions outside of school time are more effective.
