Motivation

To increase motivation for sports and healthy activities, schools should reward students who take part in exercise with an open mind and positive spirit. The teachers can agree on the rewards with the students they teach. The main thing is for the students to feel good about themselves.

The students should also be more involved with planning the lessons. They can learn about many different sports, try new things and be encouraged to try these sports outside of school. The teacher should guide the students so that they don't for example play the same sport every time, but when students have influence they are much more motivated to play!

Young people should be informed about the health benefits of sports and exercise in a friendly way that encourages them. When they learn about the positive effects of sports, they will be motivated to get moving themselves. Everyone knows that sports are good for you, but many people don't know the specifics of it. Learning about it will give young people motivation that will last through adulthood. This education could also include personalised lessons, like students learning about places where they can exercise near their homes.

Light hearted, fun competitions and sports days would be refreshing to normal school days and would build up school spirit. Students can have a nice time playing sports and competing against each other. For example, football and running races are easy to organise and fun to watch. The winners would of course receive a price. School sport teams would also help people find a sport they like, and they get more exercise while playing in the team.

Today especially young people really like using technology. For example a few years ago, Pokémon GO was incredibly popular amongst the younger people, and it encouraged people around the world to walk. Combining mobile games and sports, really inspires kids to move.
